About Rome

Rome is a living museum, but it's no relic. It's a city of epic history—the Colosseum, the Forum, the Vatican—and of fierce neighbourhood pride. The real Rome is found in the aperitivo buzz in Trastevere, the artisan workshops of Monti, and the perfect cacio e pepe in a Testaccio trattoria. Don't waste your precious time in a queue or eating bad pizza near the Pantheon. Get a plan from a local who knows how to see the icons and, more importantly, what to do after.

Best Time to Visit

April-May or September-October. The weather is perfect for walking, and the city is alive. Summer is oppressively hot, and August sees many locals flee for the coast.

Local Tips

  1. Hack the Vatican. The Vatican Museums are a stampede. A local will tell you to book a "key master's tour" that gets you in before dawn or an evening tour after the crowds have left.
  2. Find the real view. Everyone throws a coin in the Trevi Fountain. A local will send you to the nearby Galleria Sciarra, a stunning, hidden Art Nouveau courtyard that's completely free and just as beautiful.
  3. Eat where the Romans eat. Never eat in a restaurant where someone is outside trying to lure you in. Ask a local for a reservation in Testaccio, the old slaughterhouse district, now the heart of authentic Roman cuisine.

Hi, I'm Massimo, and for ten years I've been hosting tourists from around the world to discover Rome, its treasures, colors, and flavors. After studying Architecture and Art History, and after many years as an Art Director in Advertising, I decided to dedicate myself to tourism, driven by the desire to share my city with the countless tourists who visit it every day. My specialty is uncovering and highlighting Rome's hidden corners and taking you on off-the-beaten-path itineraries.

My name is Francesca, and I’m an Art Historian and photographer based in Rome, specializing in Roman archaeology, as well as Renaissance and Baroque art. With Rome as my home and main source of inspiration, I design experiences that reveal the country through its art, history, culture, and everyday life, shaping each itinerary around my clients’ interests, pace, and travel style. My approach is rooted in thoughtful exploration: I craft journeys that immerse travelers in local traditions and hidden places, connecting them with experiences shaped by the people who live there. As a passionate lover of nature-focused travel, I also curate recommendations for natural parks, secluded beaches, and immersive hiking trails, offering a deeper connection to Italy’s landscapes beyond its cities. Italy offers an extraordinary cultural and culinary heritage, and stepping off the beaten path opens the door to rare and meaningful encounters—moments untouched by mass tourism and rich in character.  I’m here to help you experience Italy in a more genuine, memorable, and personal way.
