We believe travel deserves better.
We’re two tech executives who love to travel. For years we planned trips across Europe, each one fuelled by the hope of discovering something real, something beyond the tourist trail.
A journey that began with two seekers and a shared vision.
And sometimes we did. But too often we didn’t. We followed the recommendations, booked the top-rated restaurants, visited the famous squares, and came home feeling like we’d seen a version of a place that had been packaged for us rather than shared with us.
It started to weigh on us. We watched the anti-tourism protests in Barcelona, Majorca, and Venice, and we understood why they were happening. The places we loved visiting were being overwhelmed, and the communities that made them special were being squeezed out. We kept thinking there had to be a way technology could help solve this, but the more we looked at what was being built, especially in the world of AI-generated travel content, the more we felt technology was making things worse, not better.

THE PROVENCE STORY
A small Airbnb in Provence.
During a stay at a small loft in Bonnieux, a beautiful village in the Luberon, we met our host Emilie. She had prepared a handwritten local guidebook for her guests. It was full of the places she loved, the restaurants her family ate at, the markets worth waking up early for, the quiet walks that most visitors never find.
In a region as heavily touristed as Provence, those tips completely changed our trip. We stopped eating where the crowds ate. We discovered villages we would never have found. We came home feeling like we had actually experienced the Luberon rather than just visited it.
The difference was simple: a local had shared what they knew, and we had listened.
That was the moment we asked ourselves, what if every traveller could have that conversation before they arrived? What if you could sit down with someone who lives in your destination, ask them anything, and build a trip around their genuine recommendations?
The Voyage Co. was born from that question.
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
What we’re building.
We come from backgrounds in technology and product development. We’ve spent our careers building digital platforms that connect people and solve real problems. With The Voyage Co., we’re applying that experience to something we care about deeply.
We’re building a platform where local knowledge has real economic value. Where a local in London, a tourism university student in Milan, or a passionate food lover in Rome can earn from sharing what they know. And where travellers get the kind of advice that transforms a good trip into an unforgettable one.
We believe travel is at its best when it’s personal, when it’s informed by someone who genuinely cares about their city, and when it supports the communities that make destinations worth visiting.
We’ve also surrounded ourselves with a small team of passionate people with the technical skills to bring this vision to life. Together, we’re building something we believe the travel industry genuinely needs.
We launched in Italy and have grown to over 200 local experts across Italy, France, and London. We’re expanding to new destinations throughout 2026.
