Local Terms

These terms apply to your use of The Voyage Co platform.

1. Role & Services

You are an independent provider offering travel advice and planning support. You are not an employee or agent of The Voyage Co.

You provide advice only, not bookings or physical travel services, and are responsible for the accuracy and quality of your advice.

2. Payments

Travellers pay via the platform. We act as a payment collection agent, retain a commission, and pay you within 30 days after service completion.

We may withhold or adjust payments where reasonably required, including for disputes, refunds, or chargebacks.

3. Platform Rules

You agree not to:

  • Accept payments, for services conducted on the platform, outside the platform
  • Circumvent platform fees or processes

Contact details may only be shared after a confirmed booking and must be used only for delivering the agreed service.

4. Conduct, Reviews & Disputes

You agree to communicate clearly, act professionally, and deliver services as agreed.

You must not misuse the review system. We may remove content or accounts at our discretion.

You agree to engage in good faith to resolve issues with travellers. We may assist but are not responsible for outcomes.

5. Content, Liability & Privacy

You retain ownership of your content and grant us a licence to display and promote it on the platform and in our marketing materials.

You are responsible for your services and agree to indemnify The Voyage Co against claims arising from your conduct or services.

You must handle traveller information responsibly and in line with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR where applicable. You must not use traveller personal data for any purpose other than delivering the agreed service.

6. General

You must be 18+ and provide accurate information. We may suspend or remove your account for breach of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Customer Terms

These terms apply to your use of The Voyage Co platform as a traveller.

1. Platform & Services

The Voyage Co is a marketplace that connects you with independent local experts (“locals”) who provide personalised travel advice via video consultation.

We facilitate the connection and process payments, but we do not provide travel advice ourselves. Locals are independent providers and are solely responsible for the advice they give.

2. Payments & Cancellations

Payments are processed securely through Stripe at the time of booking. Prices are set by the local expert and displayed before you book.

Cancellation policy:

  • Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled consultation will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of the consultation may be subject to a cancellation fee at the local expert’s discretion.
  • No-shows are not eligible for a refund.

If you are not satisfied with a consultation, please contact us within 48 hours at support@thevoyage.co and we will work with you and the local expert to resolve the issue. Refunds for quality concerns are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Use of the Platform

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating your account
  • Use the platform respectfully and in good faith
  • Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Keep payments for platform services on the platform

You must not contact local experts outside the platform to circumvent fees.

4. Reviews & Disputes

You may leave reviews after a consultation. Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on your genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, or otherwise in breach of these terms.

If you have a dispute with a local expert, please contact us at support@thevoyage.co. We will make reasonable efforts to help resolve the issue, but we are not responsible for the outcome of disputes between you and local experts.

5. Liability & Privacy

The Voyage Co is a marketplace. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of any advice provided by local experts. Our liability is limited to the fees you have paid through the platform for the specific consultation in question.

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. General

You must be 18+ to use the platform. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
